Posted January 21, 2017. Maybe this is how heating works in all cars now, but I'm having a little annoyance with my new MK5 Mondeo. Climate system power is on, I turn off climate control, aircon and also make sure the AUTO switch on the car temperature system is off. Then I set the heating to a temperature like 21 degrees.
Saturday 11th July 2020. Ford can now supply a 2.0 Litre Diesel Ecoblue engine FOR A MONDEO. This ecoblue engine has been used in transit vans for few years but now has emissions low enough for Euro6 so can be driven into London.
I wouldn't bother removing or cleaning it on a Mk4 stage V unless there's change in engine fuel consumption or performance. Mine's done 145000km and continues to run fine, egr and all. Egr removal results in nitric acid in the air, formed from NOx and water. Y.

If it is smoking I suggest that its probably the injectors leaking. This does not automatically indicate a problem. From the handbook: "The oil change indicator lamp will come on and remain on if the engine oil needs to be changed outside of the regular service schedule. Have the engine oil changed as soon as possible.
There's a whole host of potential problems that cause issues like this. The EGR system on the Euro 5 engine is different that the Euro 4 and the EGR on the Euro 5 Automatic (and methinks 2.2 manual) is different again.

Common to all cars that have an EGR, a very dodgy soloution to a problem that doesnt really exist. Who ever thought that putting burnt exhust gases back into an engine is an idiot, dont get me started on catalitic converters, they cause more polloution than the cure, the lean burn engine was the way forward but the cat was thought as a cheaper (short term ) soloution, do a search for lean burn
